Our story begins with Guto and Maju…
Maju, originally from Rio de Janeiro, came to Chapada for a few days of trekking guided by Guto — a local, born and raised in the region, and son of diamond miners. But what was meant to be just a trip became a real encounter: with nature, with the trails… and between the two of them.
Guto grew up among valleys and mountains, knowing every corner of this land since childhood. Maju came from Rio for a vacation — and never went back. What brought them together became a story. And that story became a purpose.
Three years later, João Pedro — Maju’s brother — joined the team, adding his energy and strength to every part of this dedicated tribe.
Lençóis Trekking was created to share all of this with you: the beauty of Chapada, the power of walking, the silence of the mountains, and the care of those who guide from the heart.
More than just an agency, we are a tribe. And we want to invite you to be part of it.
Lençóis Trekking was born from the union of a passion for nature and a commitment to responsible tourism.

Born in Andaraí and raised in Lençóis, my father’s hometown as a diamond miner. Watching my brothers work as guides, I became curious and started accompanying them on this journey. Passionate about adventures and fascinated by the stories of our ancestors, I began a new path as a mountain guide. That’s what I wanted to do with my life! Work with people from different parts of the world, always seeking new knowledge. This work had a huge purpose in my life and in the lives of the thousands of tourists I have guided throughout the Chapada Diamantina National Park for many years! After 13 years of guiding, I founded Lençóis Trekking together with my wife and today, with my brother-in-law, who joined with great energy and also saw a strong purpose in this beautiful work!

The line that separates Lençóis Trekking from myself is very thin. It is a company, but for me it is the realization of a dream and a life with purpose: taking people to connect with nature, to challenge themselves, to overcome their limits, and to feel capable of doing anything — even radically changing their lives. I am from Rio de Janeiro, and I first came to Chapada Diamantina on vacation, where I met Guto, who was my guide. I fell in love with this place and with him, and that made me move here... In the beginning, it seemed crazy — even I didn’t think it would work out, since I had no concrete plan. But just as you discover the path by walking, together we built this beautiful company that I am very proud of, and today it is part of my identity. Welcome to our Tribe!

Passionate about sports and nature, I spent a few years — behind the scenes — watching the (great) adventure of my sister and Guto building Lençóis Trekking. After a long time in the corporate world, and at their invitation, I stopped just listening to the story and started building it together with them. It has been an immense honor to, alongside them and everyone involved, provide moments of great happiness for the people who choose to travel with us! When a sister calls, it’s an order — and in this case, I’m glad I said yes!
